A Truly outstanding review. I particularly enjoyed your description of the dance battle scene late in the film. That was a really surreal moment.

I agree it was superb - and reminiscant of early dr who when each story run over several episodes (I was young so cant remember exactly how many but remember it was way better than the 1 & 2 part storys Dr Who has now!) Only thing is that it was so good it left me wanting more and ended like I wasnt get it! Please please if the 'people who make it happen' at the bbc are reading this give us more!!

Well written. Every episode seems to be setting itself up with things getting a little worse as the crew scrapes by, sometimes just barely. I agree that Eli has set himself up as bridge, indeed in increasingly hopeless situations he is the glue (or silly-putty) holding things together. But watching Dr Rush explode made me wonder how bad things will be for Eli to start to crack, and when he does how hard it will pull everyone else.
And poor Dr Rush! Such Hubris! Far too smart for his own good and unwilling or unable to shrug off the mysterious nature of his decisions despite that everyone is increasingly starting to believe he only has his own interests in mind.

Rush is very much unapreciated here, it seems most of the crew dont like him and Colonel Young seems out to get him. MAybe as the show progresses Rush will rise as hero and get the resepect.

Robert Carlyle has been know to play a bit of a hard man in his previous characters. "Begsy" would keep the ship mates in their places.
